Weekly Sports Update: 3/6 – 3/10

Boys’ Track By Connor Smith
This past Friday, both the junior varsity and varsity teams participated in a meet at Wheaton North. Both teams will look to strive for success this upcoming Friday, as they will head to North Central College in Naperville to participate in an all-DuPage Valley Conference meet.

Girls’ Track By Connor Smith
This past Saturday, the lady Mustangs participated in a co-meet with Waubonsie Valley at Oswego High School. Similar to the boys, both teams will participate in an all-DuPage Valley Conference meet at North Central College this upcoming Thursday.

Boys’ Water Polo By Sameen Ali
Last week, the boys’ water polo teams kicked off their season with a win against Hinsdale South on both levels. Varsity beat the opposing team 20-7, and the JV team finished 13-4. The boys also competed at a four-game tournament on Saturday, with varsity at Naperville North and JV at Waubonsie Valley. Both teams will be away at Lockport High School for their next game on Monday, and will take on Neuqua Valley on Tuesday.

Girls’ Water Polo By Kellie Foy
Last Monday, the girls’ water polo team won its first game against Hinsdale South, winning 16-9. Last Wednesday, the JV team beat Lincoln Way West, winning 13-1. The varsity team also beat Lincoln Way West, winning 14-5. They have a game on Monday at home against Lockport High School. The teams also have a game on Tuesday at home against rival Neuqua Valley, and a game on Thursday at Andrew High School.

Girls’ Lacrosse By Kellie Foy
The girls’ lacrosse teams have had practice this past week. They have a game on Tuesday at Metea against Minooka and a game at home on Saturday afternoon against Schaumburg.

Badminton By Kellie Foy
The girls’ badminton teams had their first week of practice. They will have their first tournament on Thursday at Oak Lawn High School. They also battle the Joliet Central Birds of Steel Invite on Saturday morning at Joliet Central.

Girls’ Soccer By Hailey Hagemaster
Girls’ soccer finished their first full week of practice for all teams. New uniforms were passed out, and the team took pictures along with the other spring sports on Saturday. Varsity took a trip to Lorado Taft this past weekend for team bonding.

Baseball By Sameen Ali
The baseball program is currently only holding practices but will have their first game towards the end of March, where they will take on Hononegah High School at home.

Softball By Peter Hinds
The softball team has started practices this week, but their first game is on March 21.

Volleyball By Peter Hinds
Tryouts have concluded for the volleyball team, which includes the 12 player varsity squad. Volleyball will continue to hold practices for a week before their first game.

Rugby By Zainie Qureshi
The rugby team returned from Tennessee, participating in an event to kick off the season. This week, they plan on continuing practice every day to gain momentum through the season.

Ultimate Frisbee By Ethan Meyers
Ultimate Frisbee had an informational meeting this week about their upcoming season.
