Rising football star junior Jayden Reed was recently offered collegiate opportunities by programs such as Western Michigan, Toledo, and Miami Ohio. He discusses his love for the game and for the people that surround him.

How do you feel about being named a “Rising Senior” by the organization, 24/7 Sports?
It’s truly a blessing being named a “Rising Senior” by 24/7 Sports. It only boosted my confidence and work ethic.

What do you think you’ve done that’s gotten you to this point in your athletic career?
To get to this point I managed to just keep striving and never giving up. I probably wouldn’t be here without family and friends, too.

When did you start playing football? Have you played any other sports?
I started playing Pop Warner football at the age of 10, and also started travel basketball at the same age.

How has the Metea Valley football program helped you improve your game?
Metea football has managed to help all the teammates create a brotherly bond, and it helps everyone realize that everyone is in this together.

Do you plan on playing in college? And if so, how do you plan on making it on the college scene?
Yes, I do plan on playing in college, and in order to make that happen, I have to keep working on my craft and stay focused in school.

Other than football, what are your hobbies?
Other than football, I just like to spend time with my loved ones, because anything can happen, and they always come first.

A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Reed accepted an offer from Western Michigan.
