Why did you decide to go to University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine?

I chose to go to go there based on how it’s a six year combined bachelor and medical doctor program. I really liked the opportunity of going to med school next year as opposed to four years from now.

What are you studying?

I’m studying medicine; I’ll also graduate with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, with a minor in chemistry.

What are you looking forward to there?

I really like the campus feel; it’s an urban environment. There’s also lots of voicing involved academically and socially, as well as [the fact that] they try to get you in a clinic in three weeks, so I’m really looking forward to that early patient care aspect of the program.

What are you planning to get involved with?

In addition to everything the medical school provides, I plan to join a fraternity as well as play ultimate frisbee.

Do you have any traditions they do that you’re looking forward to?

You know, every year they have a not really a prom, but more so a gala for everybody to attend, so I’m really looking forward to being able to do that. It’s also a good way to network and just sort of let everyone let their hair down for a nice weekend.

What are you going to miss most about Metea Valley?

At Metea I did a lot of growing, and I think that what I’m gonna miss most is being so close to home and my family as well as all the people that I’ve met in the Naperville area, considering I don’t really know anybody in Kansas City. I’m gonna miss most of the teachers and professors and some of the friends I’ve met here.
